Legal Services

General information, practical guidance, advocacy and referral support. I hold an LLB (Bachelor of Laws) qualification, but I am not an admitted legal practitioner and I do not provide legal advice. I am not bound by the new client–lawyer privilege laws — where privilege matters, I will refer you to an admitted lawyer who is.

Initial assessment & plain-English advice

A frank conversation about your situation, the likely process, and the realistic options. No jargon, no false promises.

Court preparation & support

Help understanding charges, bail conditions, court lists and what to expect on the day. I can attend as a support person where permitted.

Mental Health Court pathway

Guidance on when a mental health list or diversion may be appropriate, how to gather supporting evidence, and connecting you to clinicians and legal representation.

Domestic violence support (for men charged)

Non-judgemental help navigating AVO/DVO/IVO proceedings, contact and family arrangements, and referrals to men's support groups such as Dads in Distress / Dads Australia.

Referrals to lawyers & legal aid

Connecting you with the right community legal centre, Legal Aid office, or private practitioner — including duty lawyers where available.

Advocacy & liaison

Talking to services, employers, and family on your behalf when you are struggling to be heard.

Confidentiality

I keep what you tell me private and only share information with your explicit consent — for example, to make a referral or brief a lawyer on your behalf. I hold an LLB but I am not an admitted lawyer, so communications with me are not protected by legal professional privilege and do not constitute legal advice. If privilege is important in your matter, I will help you engage an admitted practitioner whose advice is protected.
